The surface of the dark water splits and from the depths emerges a huge black glistening fin, showering droplets in the sunlight- Who could forget the bit in Free Willy when he jumps to freedom, majestic whale silhouetted against the sunset?

Now it is your chance to see them first hand: July to October is whale watching season in Uruguay, culminating in a week long whale-festival in late September, and is sure to add an unforgettable edge to days spent cantering across the pampas, and nights in the hip beach village Punta del Este.  This trip is a sure fire hit with the kids as well, especially if you are looking for an alternative late summer/half term break.

For all those who book a trip to Uruguay in December with Dehouche, we will include a free whale watching trip, giving you the opportunity to see these majestic creatures at home in their natural habitat!
